Erdem Can spoke after the EuroLeague Round 21 match between Anadolu Efes and Virtus, sharing his impressions.
Anadolu Efes secured the victory with a score of 99-75. Despite Anadolu Efes still facing significant injury challenges, the Istanbul-based team played an excellent game and comfortably achieved a convincing win. In his statement after the game, Erdem Can first spoke about the latest situation in Turkey.
“First of all, I would like to say that I am sorry for the situation that happened in eastern Turkey, where five of our soldiers lost their lives, and eight were injured. This is a crazy world; I hope that terrorism will stop, and we can live normally.”
Anadolu Efes ended a streak of seven losses in the EuroLeague. Can commented on the events on the court in the game against Virtus.
“Honestly, I think we haven’t played poorly lately, but we were losing in close games. We had good moments but not consistently. Tonight, we were successful in maintaining a high level throughout the entire game. We played six out of the last eight games on the road. Additionally, we were missing players.
Not everyone is back yet, but finally, players played in their natural positions. Congratulations to the guys because they believed in themselves. We won one game in this marathon. We have two more games on our home court. We must maintain the same level of concentration until the end of the season. Every game is like a final for us,” said Can.
This marks the eighth victory of the season for Anadolu Efes. Their next opponent will be Barcelona.
