Garly Sojo, who represented Venezuela in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, has passed away, as announced by the Venezuelan Basketball Federation.
The player suffered an epileptic seizure while alone at home, according to meridiano.net. Sojo was only 24 years old.
Known for his effort on the court, Sojo primarily played in South America and for Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico in the G League.
Sojo was one of Venezuela’s standout players in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, averaging 12.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
