Frank Kaminsky is the latest addition to Partizan, and the center with Serbian roots revealed who helped him the most with his decision.
Partizan is slowly completing the team for the next season. After Ognjen Jaramaz, Mateusz Ponitka and PJ Dozier were brought in, the contract was also signed with Kaminsky. The former NBA player spoke after the deal was made official, and he said that he can’t wait to play in front of the fans:
“I am excited about the opportunity that has come my way. I know I am coming to a club with a rich history and a mission to win trophies. I am very happy about the opportunity to play big games. The support of this club’s fans is crazy, and I can’t wait to play in front of them.“
It is known that Kaminsky has Serbian roots, and as he himself admits, he is still well connected with the Serbian community in Illinois.
“My family is still close to the Serbian community in Illinois and the Serbian National Federation in the United States, which organizes a big basketball tournament yearly. I used to be involved in that too.” – said former Wisconsin’s student.
On of the driving forces for Kaminsky to sign with Partizan was his former teammate, Bogdan Bogdanovic. These two played together last season in Atlanta Hawks:
“It was great to play with him. He is a fantastic basketball player and an even better friend. When the opportunity to move to Partizan arose, he was the first person I reached out to. He said a lot of nice things about the club and the city, which helped me decide to sign the contract.“
