Maccabi is forced to make plans for the rest of the season due to the unfortunate circumstances and the state of war in Israel.
As officially announced by the ‘Pride of Israel,’ all foreign players on Maccabi’s roster will be relocated to Cyprus, and the rest of the team will join them in a few days. The Israeli team has already outlined plans for the continuation of the EuroLeague season.
In addition to the postponement of the second-round game against Milano, Maccabi is working to switch home venues with Valencia, aiming to play their EuroLeague matchup against them first on Spanish soil. If everything goes as planned, Maccabi will host games in the latter part of the season. Of course, this is contingent on the situation in Israel calming down as soon as possible, which we all hope for.”
Maccabi won against Partizan in the opening game of the season’s first round of the elite competition. Additionally, they reached the final of the Israeli Super Cup, where they lost to Hapoel Jerusalem.
Ostoja Mijailovic, the president of Partizan, extended an invitation to Maccabi to come to Belgrade while their country is affected by the state of war. The Minister of Sports and Culture in Israel announced that all sports and cultural events would be canceled until the situation in Israel stabilizes.
