Nikola Milutinov spoke to Greek media ahead of tonight’s match against Panathinaikos in the first game of the new EuroLeague season.
He primarily discussed his return to the ranks of the Piraeus team. He emphasized that many things have changed, but he adapted more easily because he already knows the club well.
“A lot has changed since I left; the only ones remaining from my time are Kostas Papanikolaou and Nigel Williams-Goss. Everything is new for me, but luckily, I adapted more easily than some other players. I know many people in the club, so it was easier to adapt,” Milutinov began.
He then commented on Sergio Llull’s now legendary basket that decided the EuroLeague title last season. The Serbian center emphasized that he was upset about it and was rooting for Olympiacos in the finals.
“I was cheering for them. I’m not a jealous person at all. I was very nervous and angry when Llull made the winning shot for Real,” said the returnee to Olympiacos.
Finally, he talked about the EuroLeague game of the week. Olympiacos is facing Panathinaikos at the OAKA Arena, and Milutinov emphasized that he would give his all.
“I’ve never played alongside Sloukas before. But it will be like any other game. I’ll do whatever the coach asks for. I’ll sacrifice my body, make myself available for the team. All for success,” concluded the towering center.
