Ostoja Mijailovic, president of Partizan, in an interview with MozzartSport, touched on the future plans of the black and whites.
Partizan has brought four players so far. Ognjen Jaramaz, Mateusz Ponitka, P.J. Dozier and Frank Kaminsky. That will not be the end, because as Ostoja Mijailovic points out, it is to be expected that two more players will come:
“We still have two positions left, we work smart and hard! We will have a better team than last year. No one needs to worry. It is important that everything serves health, the rest is up to us.“
Considering the names being mentioned in the news, it’s clear that the black and whites will have a higher budget in the season ahead.
“We all wanted a better team next season, our budget will be 20% higher than last season. It is completely understandable that the tickets will cost a little more, the club has to make money somehow. At the moment there are significantly more than 20,000 people registered on our site to buy seasonal tickets, I’m sorry we won’t have enough for everyone.” – Mijailovic said.
One of the biggest moves this summer was the new contract for captain Kevin Punter. The president of the current ABA champion revealed how it happened:
“Kevin is a fantastic man. We all wanted him to stay at the club. I spoke to most of the board members and they were all in favor of the captain staying at the club. When Zoran Savic informed me that it was almost over and that Kevin was going to Barcelona, I asked him to ask the agents and Kevin to wait a few hours with the decision, which they did.
I asked what the obstacles were and what would change the situation in our favor. Zoran conveyed the conditions to me, to which we reacted as a club and Kevin stayed in Partizan. I am proud that we kept such a player, I know very well what he means to the club and the fans.“
