Sarunas Jasikevicius, will spend the next period as part of the NBA franchise Sacramento Kings, according to Lithuanian media.
Sarunas Jasikevicius will be in California for the next month, aiming to further enrich his knowledge while working with the Kings.
Saras’ last coaching engagement was with Barcelona, from which he parted ways at the end of the previous season, despite earlier announcements of a contract extension. Roger Grimau took over Barcelona after him, signing a two-year contract with the Catalan giant.
The legendary guard of Panathinaikos and Barcelona will have the opportunity to work with compatriot Domantas Sabonis in Sacramento.
The Memphis Grizzlies had previously shown interest in the former Lithuanian national team player. Jasikevicius was a target for the Grizzlies in 2019 and again last summer. Sarunas initially chose to stay with Žalgiris, then in 2020, he moved to Barcelona.
During his coaching career, Jasikevicius has won two titles in Spain, two cups, five titles in Lithuania, three cup trophies, and he reached the final tournament of the Euroleague three times but didn’t manage to clinch the title, as he did four times as a player.
