Sarunas Jasikevicius, the head coach of Fenerbahce, spoke after his team’s loss against Monaco in the EuroLeague play-off game.
Fenerbahce had a pretty bad start to the game, trailing by 16 points early on. However, thanks mainly to their three-point shooting, they staged a comeback and took the lead 74:65 in the final quarter. Nevertheless, Monaco managed to prevail in the end with a score of 93:88, tying the series at 1-1 before heading to Istanbul.
“We didn’t start the game well, then we had the chance to close it out, but we couldn’t. These are big games where the details always decide.
One rebound, one foul, and one defensive mistake cost us the win. Congratulations to Monaco and Sasa Obradovic,” said Sarunas Jasikevicius.
“We hit a lot of three-pointers, managed to survive the first half mainly due to our three-point shooting. We played phenomenally in the third quarter, holding Monaco to just 11 points, but then we showed a defensive collapse. As I’ve said before, it’s the details that decide,” said Lithuanian coach.
Monaco managed to equalize the series at 1-1, and the third game will be played in Istanbul on May 1st, starting at 7:45 PM.
