Tony Parker stated in an interview with Le Progres that Asvel will reduce its budget for the next season due to issues with the main sponsor.
The club’s current budget is 21,000,000 euros, but there have been complications because Asvel’s main sponsor (Skweek) has encountered financial problems. Fedcom Media/Skweek allegedly paid only a third of its contractual obligation to the French giant, putting it in an extremely unfavorable situation.
“The budget will inevitably decrease. It has been tough… We will see if the obligations (sponsorship) will be fulfilled by the end of June. As for Asvel itself, we want to remain positive. We have been told that they will fulfill their obligations,” Tony Parker stated.
Asvel has had another disastrous season, finishing 17th in the EuroLeague standings. It remains questionable whether they will stick to 25 recorded losses or if Barcelona will hand them their 26th.
Regarding the LNB Pro A, Asvel currently sits in third place with a record of 20 wins and eight losses.
