The EuroLeague’s 32nd round features three games today following six matches played on Thursday.
The significance of the elite competition has increased with the introduction of the play-in, as seen in the regular season matches. Out of nine games in the 32nd round, only one lacks significance in terms of results. It seems that the EuroLeague has made the right move.
18:45 Fenerbahce – Alba Berlin
Yigit Hamza Mestoglu and Raul Neto will not play for Fenerbahce. Dyshawn Pierre is questionable. In Alba Berlin, the duo Matteo Spagnolo – Gabriele Procida is out.
20:30 Real Madrid – Crvena zvezda
After missing the last few games, the veteran duo Rudy Fernandez – Sergio Llull is questionable for this game as well. In terms of the EuroLeague, the current European champion has secured the first position for the playoffs.
On the other side, Crvena Zvezda still faces many absence issues. Yago Dos Santos is recovering from sinus bone surgery. Nikola Topic and Trey Thompkins are training individually and should return to the court soon, but they did not travel to Madrid. Additionally, Milos Teodosic is out of the team.
20:30 Virtus Bologna – Panathinaikos
Virtus has recently experienced a significant drop in form, which is evident in their results. A team that spent a large part of the season among the top four teams on the table will now likely continue their competition in the next phase through the play-in.
During the crucial game against Panathinaikos, Isaia Cordinier and Daniel Hackett are questionable. The impact they have on Virtus’ defense was best described by Andrea Trinchieri, comparing them to a defensive duo and legends of Milan – Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta. Devontae Cacok has been out due to injury for a while, so he won’t be available either.
Panathinaikos doesn’t have any injury concerns. Ioannis Papapetrou and Luca Vildoza are available, and Kostas Antetokounmpo is no longer on the injured players list.
