Unicaja defeated Murcia in the second game of the FIBA Champions League Final Four by 80:74, securing their spot in the final.
Before this game, Unicaja was considered the favorite considering their performance in the FIBA Champions League and their first-place position in the Liga Endesa.
However, Murcia, led by Marko Todorovic, started the game better, especially offensively, and after the first quarter, they had a significant lead of 26:15.
In the second quarter, Murcia maintained a ten-point lead until the end, when Unicaja, which was stopped in the semifinals last year at the final tournament in Malaga, narrowed the gap to 32:26. Players led by coach Sito Alonso managed to respond, and at halftime, they had a lead of 40:33.
In the third quarter, Unicaja, led by Ibon Navarro, who played the Final Four of the FIBA Champions League with Murcia in 2018, played better and took the lead 50:49 after a 12:0 run. Going into the final quarter, Unicaja had a 59:56 lead. Early in the last quarter, the team from Malaga had their largest lead of the game, 64:58, indicating the final outcome of the game. They maintained a lead of up to nine points until the end. Murcia managed to close the gap to 75:71 towards the end, but they couldn’t go beyond that, and Unicaja advances to the final.
Tyson Carter led the winners with 14 points, Kendrick Perry contributed 12 points, and Nihad Djedovic scored seven points. On the other side, the top scorer was Marko Todorovic with 18 points, while Dylan Ennis added 10.
In the final on Sunday, they will face Tenerife, who earlier in the day defeated Peristeri.
