Ioannis Sfairopoulos, the head coach of Crvena Zvezda, spoke at a joint press conference announcing the Serbian Superleague.
As the Greek strategist emphasizes at this moment, the Superleague is on hold primarily due to obligations in the ABA League, but he expressed immense respect for Serbian and Yugoslav basketball.
“It is very important for our club to participate in the Superleague. For me, as a foreigner, it is a great honor to participate in the Serbian league. We were raised with Serbian, or rather Yugoslavian basketball. That’s why I have great respect for the competition. This is my first year here as a coach, and I have seen how significant every domestic trophy is through the Cup. The other teams are well-organized, have quality coaches, and good players. It will be a good league, and I wish everyone good luck,” Ioannis Sfairopoulos stated.
