Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic once again denied the Los Angeles Lakers a win, with the final score in the second game being 101:99.
It was another fantastic NBA game between these teams. The Los Angeles Lakers managed to play exceptionally well on the road, building an early lead of four points after the first quarter. However, they couldn’t maintain their advantage as the Denver Nuggets rallied.
The guests had a strong start to the game, showcasing a noticeable difference in their approach and securing a four-point lead after the first 12 minutes. The Lakers capitalized on their excellent play in the second quarter, extending their lead to double digits and going into halftime with a 15-point advantage.
In the second half, Nikola Jokic stepped up for the Nuggets. The Serbian star was in top form, which usually spells trouble for the opposition. His performance energized Denver’s offense, leading them to enter the decisive quarter trailing by only 10 points. The Nuggets continued to chip away at the lead until the final possession, with Michael Porter Jr. playing a crucial role in keeping his team in contention.
Porter’s clutch three-pointers prevented the Lakers from pulling away again, and alongside Jokic, he kept Denver in the game. After LeBron James missed the final shot attempt, Porter Jr. grabbed the rebound at 99-99, and the ball ended up in Jamal Murray’s hands. Despite consecutive blocks, Murray faced off against Anthony Davis and sank a shot over the stellar center as the buzzer sounded, securing the second win for his team.
Jokic led the winning team with 27 points, 10 assists, and 20 rebounds. Porter Jr. contributed 22 points, while Jamal Murray, the hero of the game, added 20. For the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis had an outstanding performance with 32 points and 11 rebounds, supported by LeBron James with 26 points and 12 assists. D’Angelo Russell also played well, scoring 23 points.
The Denver Nuggets now lead the series 2-0, with the third game in Los Angeles scheduled for the night between Thursday and Friday at 04:00.
