Sarunas Jasikevicius, the head coach of Fenerbahce, shared his first impressions after the first game of the EuroLeague quarterfinal series against Monaco.
“The Canaries” showed great character and managed to secure a 95-91 win after an additional five minutes of play. At one point, they had a 14-point deficit, and with six minutes left, they were trailing by eight points, but win is what counts at the end of the day.
“In these situations, you have to be happy with the win. To be honest, it’s a great win, a lot of good plays on both sides. Priority number one is to rest. We need to be even better and work on the details. We need to understand where we made mistakes, but also where we were good. Monaco is a very demanding opponent. Let’s rest our minds and bodies, and then hope to play better, because we certainly can. Two very athletic and physically well-prepared teams, that’s playoff basketball, and we have to be ready for it.”
