Milija Vojinovic, the director of the ABA League, denied that a decision has been made about Dubai’s participation in the league next season.
The Greek portal Sport 24 reported during the day that the ABA League has decided not to expand in the next season and that Dubai will not be a member.
The ABA League has not yet voted on the inclusion of Dubai, as reported by the Basketball Sphere.
To remind you, unanimous approval from the league ownership is required for such a decision. The ownership consists of 11 clubs – Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, FMP, Mega, Zadar, Cibona, Buducnost, Mornar, Igokea, Krka, and Cedevita Olimpija.
Milija Vojinovic confirmed our information.
“I don’t know where this rumor came from because there was no ABA League assembly, and therefore, there couldn’t have been a vote,” Vojinovic briefly stated for Meridian Sport.
