Denver Nuggets suffered a loss against the Philadelphia 76ers and before the game, they found themselves in an uncomfortable situation.
Scenario “Terminal”
However, the entire situation was preceded by an incident over which the Denver Nuggets had no control. Specifically, before taking off on a tour during which they would play five games in just 11 days, their flight was delayed by five hours. The reason for this was the freezing of the plane’s engines due to adverse weather conditions, leaving Nikola Jokić and the team “stranded,” arriving much later than expected at the hotel in Philadelphia.
“We held hands for five hours,” joked Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone.
For this reason, four Nuggets players were on the list of those whose decision to play would be known just before the game. In the end, all of them took the court, but it evidently affected their performances. When asked how he spent those hours, considering he missed the horse race he had planned to watch in the “City of Brotherly Love,” Nikola Jokic had a brief answer:
“I did nothing for five hours. Literally nothing,” he said, and then commented on the game:
“We helped them with turnovers. Several lost balls determined the outcome. Moreover, we must emphasize that they are the team with the most steals per game. It was an interesting game.”
The Denver Nuggets now stand at a record of 28-14, securing the third spot in the Western Conference. The Philadelphia 76ers hold the third position in the Eastern Conference with a 26-13 record.
